Our EXR CNC folding machines feature a rotating top beam providing both a straight folding blade and segmented high box tooling on one machine. The flexibility of this design means the vast majority of parts can be produced without tool changes. In fact complex parts can be programmed and folded using both stations within one part if required. 

The different beam geometry at each station provides ultimate flexibility; the straight folding station with a 20° blade and 45° beam angle is ideal for over bending and for large return bends. Some users also prefer to use a straight folding blade for long folds in sensitive or decorative material.

The high box tooling brings the versatility of a box and pan folder to a CNC machine. This tooling is segmented in various lengths to allow the bending of deep boxes and trays while still having the ability to perform small over bends for applications like hemming.

In addition to the rotating top beam design, the EXR folder features a generous standard equipment list as well as several optional features to further tailor the machine to user requirements. 

Support table with integrated back gauge

As standard the EXR features a 1 metre support table integrating the back gauge; this allows large sheets of thin material to be easily handled with the bulk of the part on the table during folding. The gauging fingers themselves are made from spring steel allowing them to pass under the tooling and gauge within 10 mm of the point of bend; this removes the requirement for cut outs in the lower beam which can lead to marking on sensitive material.

Alternative back gauge designs

Back gauges can be optionally extended by up to 3 or 4 metres depending on the model. U and L shaped back gauges are also offered giving the best access from the rear of the machine when folding a range of part sizes. The standard table includes roller balls although this can be upgraded to a full brush table for working with sensitive materials. All back gauges longer than 1 metre feature multiple rows of gauging fingers which are operated pneumatically and are selected by the control based on the gauging length. 

2D CNC touch screen control

The standard control offered with the EXR models is our 2D touch screen control allowing easy programming of parts directly from the screen on the machine. Parts are drawn by tapping on the screen to create the 2D part outline and then modifying the dimensions as required. The machine optimises the bends and checks suitability of the tooling before creating the bending program. A 3D control is available optionally allowing parts to be visualised in 3D on the control.
