Metal cutting guillotines, or shears, have developed significantly over the last century. We started off by producing mechanical machines which worked with the centrally powered drive system installed in many factories of the Victorian era. This design was easily transferred to mechanical power shears incorporating their own drive motor.
The 1960’s and 70’s saw the introduction of hydraulic guillotines, the basic design of which forms the backbone of today’s machines. Innovations have since been made in hydraulic design, shear blade material, safety systems and machine controls.
Our guillotine model range features;
- Mechanical and hydraulic designs
- Swing beam shears and variable rake guillotines
- High capacity models up to 40mm steel
- NC and CNC controls
- Many different productivity options
Some of the variables to consider when specifying a metal cutting guillotine are;
- Maximum and minimum material thickness and the range to be processed
- Type of material, e.g. mild steel, stainless, aluminium, copper etc
- Range of cut lengths to be gauged
- Handling characteristics of the product
