Our SPM Tube Plasma Cutting Machine is an innovative solution for tube processing which combines the low cost benefits of mechanised air plasma with CNC automation and parts nesting. At a fraction of the cost of a tube laser it is still a perfectly acceptable solution for many applications. The SPM is capable of working with round, square and rectangular tubes as standard but can also process angles and channels with additional software and attachments.
Automate manual processes
Combined with the durable Hypertherm Powermax system, the SPM automates many manual processes such as sawing and drilling into one seamless CNC controlled cutting program. Operations include cutting round holes and slots, coping out sections of the profiles, notching tubes for straight and angled joins, and parting off the completed component.
CNC control and software

The industrial CNC control features a 12” touch screen and is programmed from desktop CAM software included with the machine. The software can create parts from scratch or can import a 2D DXF or a 3D STEP or IGES file. Different parts using common material can be nested along the length of a tube to maximise utilisation. Programs are sent to the machine via a network connection or USB key.
Optional equipment
Among the available options is a water flush system suitable to use with closed profiles such as round tube and box section. This keeps the material cool, producing the best cutting results and at the same time reducing smoke and fumes. An engraving pen can also be fitted, producing quality marking of text, all from within the main cutting program.
