IPG Laser Welding Masterclass - 3 Day Roadshow

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of hosting Antuan Sciacca and Tom Waldbauer from IPG Photonics Gmbh & Co. KG for our IPG Masterclass Roadshow at various sites across the UK.
The roadshow started in RS Machinery’s Northern Ireland showroom, in Antrim. Some of the team got to sit down and discuss all things Laser Welding with Antuan and Tom. This included trading experiences and knowledge with the team from Germany, where the IPG Laser Welders are manufactured, before giving some visiting customers a hands-on experience with the latest IPG Laser Welder, the LightWELD XR 2000, capable of welding up to 8mm thick materials.
The Masterclass Roadshow then visited RS Machinery’s Glasgow showroom where there was more staff training and customer visits for training and applications work with the LightWELD System.
Customers were able to see how the latest offering from IPG, the XR 2000, enables impressive welds in up to 8mm, with fusion or wire-fed welding. This opens up a great variety of possibilities for customers to utilise Laser Welding within their processes; speeding up welds, freeing up capacity and reducing per-part costs to maximise profitability.
The roadshow finished in Stafford at the Bison Machinery Showroom, where the Bison and Selmach teams had a chance to talk with the visiting IPG Team, before welcoming some more customers in to experience the LightWELD XR 2000.
As well as giving customers the opportunity to have a go at laser welding, the IPG Team were able to assist with explaining the key safety requirements needed for Laser Welding in general; from the interlocked safety enclosures, to the benefits of the two-trigger system on the IPG System, plasma detection and more.
